50/50 share? Couple China Roces and Tim Sawyer seek legal advice from Tulfo's show

From last week’s viral Facebook live video of vloggers China Roces and Tim Sawyer arguing, it seems the live-in couple has not been able to patch things up. This has led both of them to go on a “conference call” on the show of Raffy Tulfo.

The 30-minute show started with Raffy interviewing them, asking China what she really wanted from her partner Tim, which is to agree on a 50/50 arrangement when it comes to their finances.

Garreth Tungol, lawyer and chief of staff of Hon. Jocelyn P. Tulfo, confirmed that China has the right to ask for equal share. Under article 147, Garreth explained that even if the couple isn’t legally married, each of them can claim 50 percent of the profits. “So tama yun hinihingi ni Ms. China Roces dito sa kanyang request (So Ms. China Roces is correct with regards to her request). In short, dapat hati sila (they should have equal sharing).” Because their videos are still making money, Garreth explains that they can compute the profit for those separately.

Tim also added that he wanted to seek help, “Gusto ko ng (I want) legal advice. Hindi ako nandamot (I wasn’t greedy). Hindi ako nagkulang (I wasn't wanting as a provider).” Raffy then assured them that they will refer the couple to a lawyer who will draft an agreement between the two. “Ceasefire sa social media para hindi na lumaki,” ends Raffy.
