Local stock prices weakened yesterday as investors continue to wait for market moving news.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped 19.79 points, or 0.34 percent ,to close at 5,841.60 with sectoral indices evenly split between advancers and decliners.
Volume was slightly higher at 1.45 billion shares worth ₱5.67 billion with losers again beating gainers 109 to 88 as 52 were unchanged.
“Shares closed weaker on low volume once again with investors getting ready for the quarter end window dressing tomorrow, while other remained on the sidelines for a new deal on US fiscal stimulus and several corporate deals being struck,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
