Morning show grants big boon to single dad

ABS-CBN morning show “Magandang Buhay” has turned over the digital key to a brand-new house and lot to a single father.

Ernesto Bauzon, the fourth winner in the show’s “Magandang Buhay, Magandang Bahay” segment, received the key in an awarding streamed on Facebook Live last month although he had won the house December 2019.

“Magandang Buhay” said then that they picked Ernesto for his dedication to and love for his three children. The story of how the widowed father raised his children singlehandedly for decades touched the hearts of many viewers.

Upon submitting Ernesto’s story to the “Magandang Buhay, Magandang Bahay” segment, his daughter Agnes related why she thought her father deserved to win the brand-new home.

“Sa tagal po niyang nag-alaga sa amin bilang momshie at popshie, na hanggang ngayon sobrang dedicated niya sa pag-aaruga sa mga apo niya, napakahalagang magkaroon siya ng sariling bahay,” she said.

Joining the awarding were BRIA Homes President and Chief Operating Officer, Red Rosales; as well as show hosts Jolina Magdangal, Melay Cantiveros-Francisco, and Karla Estrada in a conference call.

The awarding of the Bauzons’ new BRIA home in Pampanga was put off when lockdown and quarantine measures due to the pandemic were enforced. Ernesto’s home is an Elena end-unit model with a floor area of 22 square meters and a lot area of 54 square meters; and equipped with furniture in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom—including new air-conditioning unit.

The Bauzon family can move into their new home in Pampanga, as soon as the current situation and quarantine protocols allow them to.
