Just like most people, some of our more popular celebrities couldn't help but be enamored with different online fads, particularly with lockdown allowing them so much free time.
The latest craze to hit local Tinseltown is Facebook's "Create Your Avatar.”
Lots of stars have already been participating in the same sharing the final outcome on their social media accounts.
Among them is actress Angel Locsin, who actually applied more than the usual effort by emphasizing some of her facial features including the mole on her upper lip.
Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado, meanwhile, made few versions of an avatar of her as her "Descendants Of The Sun" character, Dr. Maxine Kang.
One of the avatars is wearing a face mask, while the other is seen washing her hands.
The nine-member pop band Ben& Ben, on the other hand, collated their Avatars in one frame.
It was meticulous enough, with the group focusing even on the small details including the different types of frames of the eyeglasses they use to a member's goatee.
Kapuso actors Ruru Madrid and Ken Chan also posted their own avatars, which coincidentally shared the same pose.
Early this month, the head of Facebook App Fidji Simo revealed the reason behind the idea.
"So much of our interactions these days are taking place online, which is why it’s more important than ever to be able to express yourself personally on Facebook. Avatars enable you to share a range of emotions and expressions via a digital persona that’s uniquely representative of you, so we’re excited to bring this new form of self-expression to more people around the world. There are so many different ways you can use your avatar including in comments, Stories, Messenger—and soon text posts with backgrounds, too. With so many emotions and expressions to choose from, avatars let you react and engage more authentically with family and friends across the app. It’s important to us that you can personalize your avatar so it represents your unique, authentic self, which is why we’re also adding in a new range of customizations, too —such as new hairstyles, complexions, and outfits," she wrote.
Note that everyone can create their own avatar by just following a few simple steps: Access the Facebook or Messenger comment composer; click on the “smiley” button, and then the sticker tab; create your avatar.
