NRX ready for tough mission

NRX Jeremiah 29:11 coach Michael "Kyaaah" Belaya is optmistic that the lone Filipino representative will conquer the Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) World Championship 2020-Garena Qualifiers which is set to fire off on Monday evening. 

"We are confident because we are our nation's pride," Belaya told the Manila Bulletin in an online interview. 

"We will show them (the result of) our hard work and dedication on this game, not just for us but also for our true and loyal supporters. We are not just a team but also a family and we are proud to represent our country." 

NRX, composed of captain JC "Jayzee" Rivera, Jerrold "Woopiie" Regay, Benj "CRUSH" Trinidad, John Kenneth "KenDY" Pimentel and Kennedy "iDra" Mondoy, entered the online qualifying tournament after winning the ESL MSP Championship-Philippines. 

The PH team will battle FunPlus Phoenix (Taiwan), Daivo.FreeSlot (Thailand), DG Esports (Singapore), Divinity.Uprising (Singapore) and Resurgence (Malaysia) for the Garena server's lone spot in the CODM World Championship slated in December. 

NRX will begin its campaign against DG Esports at 9 p.m. 

Teams will compete in a round-robin group stage, with the top 4 advancing to the single elimination playoffs. 

Belaya said that they are well-prepared for the qualifiers. 

"We don’t stop practicing until we perfect our five-man rotation in every map and mode. And we grind individually for five hours or more plus four to five hours in scrim or practice match every day." 

NRX recently clinched a silver finish behind Divinity.Uprising in the ESL MSP Championship-Southeast Asia.
