“Joker” actor Joaquin Phoenix is now a father.
The actor’s fiancée Rooney Mara has reportedly given birth to a boy who the couple named after the Phoenix’s late brother, River.
River Phoenix, Joaquin’s elder brother, was also an actor. He starred movies such as "Stand By Me "and "My Own Private Idaho." He died in 1993 due to drug overdose.

Director Viktor Kossakovsky who worked with Phoenix in the documentary film “Gunda” mentioned the actor’s baby news during a press conference for the 2020 Zurich Film Festival on Sept. 27.
Kossakovsky during the Q&A said Phoenix “just had a baby,” that’s why the actor can’t promote the movie with him.

“By the way his name was…a beautiful son called River,” the director added.
Back in May, it was confirmed that the couple was expecting their first child together and that Mara was already six months pregnant.
The news of Mara’s pregnancy came one year after the couple was reported to be engaged.
