Execration destroys Blu Fire, grabs MPL playoff spot

Executing its plays to perfection, Execration ripped BNK Blu Fire for an easy 2-0 sweep to secure a spot in the playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League-Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 6 on Friday night.

It was an utter dominance from Execration in both games as the league veterans locked in on a post-regular season slot with 14 points.

Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog and the gang in black and white joined idle Blacklist International in the second spot of Group A.

EXE also sent the MPL newcomer Blu Fire crashing out of playoff contention with a winless record in 10 matches.

Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales shone with his Gusion in Game 1, finishing with eight kills against zero deaths in a 17-0 destruction.

Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales also stepped up on his Yi Sun-shin with an early pick-up of Blade of Despair as Execration took a nine-thousand gold advantage in the eighth minute.

BNK played with fire in the second game, taking an unconventional pick of crowd favorite Fanny.

But the gamble did not pay off as Ch4knu's Jawhead constantly disturbed Fanny’s purple buff acquisition and threw Blu Fire’s rotation out of rhythm.

The deadly duo of Hate’s YSS and Bennyqt’s Leomord delivered the killing blows for an 18-8 victory.

The sixth week of MPL will continue tomorrow with an exciting triple-header featuring the top teams from the two groups.

Smart Omega will take on Cignal Ultra in Group B at 4:30 p.m.The two-time defending champion Aura PH will battle Blacklist International in Group A at 6 p.m; and Season 5 runner-up Onic PH will clash against BSB in another Group B match at 7:30 p.m.
