Mariel Padilla slams critics of Manila Bay beautification project

Television host-actress Mariel Padilla is not happy with critics complaining about the government's ongoing beautification of Manila Bay.

“Nung puro basura, walang nag rereklamo, ngayon na pinaganda…can you believe it? Ngayon sila nag rereklamo,” Mariel commented on her husband Robin Padilla’s Instagram post of a video that highlights the improvements on Manila Bay.

Mariel also questioned why critics are asking where their taxes went when the Manila Bay project itself is obvious proof.

“Ang hindi ko maintindihan is lagi natin hinahanap kung saan napunta yung tax na binabayad natin… ayan oh.. atleast yan nakikita natin diba. Tapos may complain parin,” she added.

Robin, for his part, said that as a taxpayer he would rather see white sand on Manila Bay, rather than garbage.

Robin also said that the new Manila Bay allows free relaxation for individuals and bonding of families, which the actor said is a way of “mental, emotional, and physical therapy.”

“Every Filipino deserves a swim, a sunrise and sunset by the beach,” he said.
