Chinese firm donates 1 million masks to Philippine government

Tasan Health and Medical TECH donated to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, through Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, one million face masks that could be used in the country’s ongoing fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Tasan Health and Medical TECH asked Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) Chairman Norman Fulgencio to represent the company in the turnover ceremony of the first set of donations of the health and medical company to the Philippines.

Witnessing the affair were Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) President and Chief Operating Officer Alfredo Lim, Rizal Park Hotel Chairman Simon Lee - Paz, Philippine National Construction Corporation (PNCC) Chairman Herculano “Joji” Co, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Greco Belgica, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations Atty. Edward James Dy Buco at the Rizal Park Hotel last Thursday, September 17.

Tasan’s production headquarters is located at the Shanghai Baoshan Industrial Park, which has the capacity to produce 4.5 million masks daily. 

The products produced by Tasan, which include category 1 and 2 medical devices, sanitary products, and masks, have been certified in over 40 countries in Asia and Europe.

“And since the Philippines is the neighbor of China, we hope to create the business with it,” said Sheng WanCong, chief executive officer of Zhejiang Tasan Flow Tech Co., Ltd.

Before its business in the Philippines goes full swing, Tasan has already embarked on a massive campaign to distribute free masks to Filipinos with the help of PMS.

And because of Tasan’s capability to produce masks in large volumes, Sheng said it can offer the protective equipment at much lower prices.

“This can really help people to use good products, but not waste money because it’s not easy for people to earn nowadays because of COVID-19,” he said.
