Whom does Anne Curtis' daughter Dahlia look like?
Anne shares how long they kept their pregnancy a secret and how they came up with their daughter’s name
Anne Curtis has been staying in Victoria, Australia with husband Erwan and their baby daughter Dahlia since Christmas 2019. In an interview via Instagram TV with host G3, this doting mom couldn’t contain her joy on being a mom. “Honestly, I don’t know why I waited so long to be a mom,”
she says. “It’s the best thing that happened to me.”
In her very first interview since she gave birth, Anne shared with the viewers their pregnancy journey, starting off with how the couple reacted when they found out Anne was pregnant, admitting that “it was a beautiful surprise” which they kept a secret for four and a half months.
As to why they decided to leave, the radiant mom revealed that it was a last-minute decision. “I was working so hard kasi and parang hindi nila ako mapigilan magwork,” she says. “So I felt one way to really get me to stop working is to be here.”
Anne was also asked how they came up with the name Dahlia Amélie. “The hardest part of it all was choosing a name for her,” she continues, talking about the many small signs that helped them decide from the short list. They were in the botanical gardens when they came across dahlia flowers. “I really like the name. It was my first role—Dahlia for Magic Kingdom.” The second name had to be French since Erwan was half French. “Amélie means hardworking, and I was working hard (during pregnancy). Also, it was one of our favorite French movies,” says Anne who added that they immediately looked at each other while the movie popped up on screen and
knew that this was it.
Netizens, and even friends, couldn’t help but notice that Dahlia looks a lot more like her husband Erwan. Even Anne concedes, “Agad agad, kamukha ng papa niya, but I would say she has a lot of my personality.” She credits this reason to her being clingy to her husband. “Oo, pinaglihian ko ang asawa ko. In the latter part ng pregnancy ko, kailangan palagi kong kasama si Erwan—mayakap, kini-kiss.”
