Watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s video on the beauty of the Philippines

American actor and director Joseph Gordon-Levitt created a short film through his online collaborative media community HitRecord titled “The Beauty of the Philippines.”

On Saturday, the star of famous movies such as Don John, Inception, and 500 days of Summer, among others, thanked contributors who sent in footage and images of the tropical country for this project.

“Wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who contributed. Your enthusiasm for this project really moved me. So did your talent and creativity,” wrote Gordon-Levitt on the post of the one-minute film.

The photo montage featured the country’s breathtaking sceneries and people, including revered Kalinga tattoo artist Apo Whang-od.

The video begins with a female voice over saying that the most beautiful thing about the country is the Filipinos.

Here’s the complete transcript:

“The most beautiful thing about the Philippines is its people.
They find beauty in all things.
They will make you feel like you are family, like you are home.
Wherever you go, you will find yourself surrounded by scenes of such spectacle.
From the plants to the trees to the water to the setting sun. Every spot special.
But it is the people you will remember most.
You will discover how a simple smile from a stranger can change your day.
In their eyes you will find hope and love.
And you will be forever changed.”

The project was written, produced, and voiced by several artists for Hit Record.

Gordon-Levitt also expressed how he enjoyed the collaboration and found that the Philippines really is a stunning place and an equally beautiful culture.

As of writing, the video now has over 7.6K engagements on Facebook.
