This antiviral technology from Israel could be our way to travel again

Israel, keen on making travel safe and enjoyable to tourists once borders reopen, taps its leading tourism company, Sar-El Tours, to take initiative for its domestic scale.

It is one of the first tourism companies to leverage on technologies that incorporate safety, cleanliness, and sustainability into the country’s tourism system, including bus fleet, hotel rooms, and key partners.

For its initial, ongoing plan, Sar-El Tours promises to keep clients safe by installing hi-tech air filtration and purification devices into spaces through AuraAir. The Israeli automation startup builds a product for air quality and cleanliness using recycled air, and has been securing establishments and homes even before the pandemic. Sar-El passengers and travelers can easily monitor the air around them in real time using a downloadable mobile application.

In previous experiments run by Aura Smart Air, and in the pilot at Sheba Medical Hospital, it was demonstrated that the filter made by thecompany successfully managed to filter a series of high-risk pathogens and various viruses, such as Influenza H1N1 and Influenza H5N1.

“The Aura Air filtration system is currently being tested on its ability to target the coronavirus,” says Samuel Smadja, Sar-El’s owner. “Results are looking promising, and we are proud to be working with a company that takes this matter seriously, using innovative technologies to reach an effective solution.”

On the other hand, Sar-El’s general manager, Uri Avrouskine, says that the company is preparing for the future of serving global travelers. “Installing the filters on buses is part of our efforts in readying ourselves,” he says.
