San Juan City will be distributing another wave of food packs to its residents now that Mega Manila is under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) again.
Mayor Francis Zamora said they have started the repacking of relief goods for the 13th wave of food pack distribution to residents of 21 barangays in the city.
President Duterte placed the National Capital Region (NCR) and its neighboring provinces under MECQ for two weeks on Aug. 4 amid the recent spike in the number of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
“Sinisimulan na pong i-repack ang halos 45,000 food packs na ito, at sa loob ng ilang araw kami po’y magsisimula nang mamahagi muli para sa mga pamilyang San Juaneño (We have started to repack these almost 45,000 food packs, and in a few days we will again start distributing them to families in San Juan),” he said.
Zamora said the food packs will be distributed on a house-to-house basis in the coming days.
The mayor has also reminded his constituents of the ongoing liquor ban in the city, as well as strict curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
“Tayo po ay sumunod sa mga patakarang ito, lalong-lalo na po 'yung hindi pagsunod sa mga batas natin patungkol sa pagsuot ng face mask, iyan po ay huhulihin po natin (Let us follow these rules, especially those who do not follow our laws regarding wearing a face mask, we will apprehend them),” he said.
Likewise, he also warned that those not observing physical distancing will be apprehended.
On the other hand, Zamora said new quarantine passes are being released and will be brought by barangays officials to each family in the city.
The local government has again required residents to use quarantine passes whenever they leave their house during the MECQ period.
