PBA: Robert Bolick joins NorthPort practice after 10-month hiatus

Robert Bolick joined NorthPort’s resumption of practice on Thursday at Green Meadows gym, 10 months after his rookie season was cut short by an ACL tear on his right knee.

Photos provided by the PBA showed Bolick taking a jump shot while attending the practice that was split in groups as part of strict health protocols being implemented by the league.

Bolick is hoping to use the training sessions to get himself back in game shape once the PBA resumes its season.

“(First) practice of Robert Bolick was this morning,” texted Batang Pier team manager Bonnie Tan. “He’s very excited for his comeback after 10 months of absence from the court.”

The former San Beda star tore his ACL during the fourth quarter of NorthPort’s win over San Miguel Beer on Oct. 23 at the Cuneta Astrodome, ending an impressive pro debut highlighted by a Gilas Pilipinas stint in the FIBA World Cup.

He underwent rehab even after the government imposed community quarantine regulations on Metro Manila, spending time working out at Tan’s private gym in Quezon City.

Among those in Bolick’s group was Jonathan Grey, who also hit the comeback trail after being sidelined by a patellar tendon injury since June 2019.
