Kristel Fulgar on how her hard work as vlogger paid off

Young star Kristel Fulgar is thankful stars have lined up for her.

 
On Star Magic's "Star Beginnings," the 25-year-old celebrity recalled her journey. Apparently, never in her wildest dreams did she think of becoming an actress. As a kid, she just knew she had talent for singing so she only thought of becoming a singer.

 
"'Yung acting parang magic na dumating," was how she put it. 

Kristel said her career started after making it to the grand finals of MTB's "Munting Miss U." After that, a talent coordinator approached her and advised her to audition for a part on a teleserye.

 
"Ayaw ko pa nu'n kasi alam kong 'di ako marunong umarte at wala akong experience," she related. 

But when she learned the character requires an actor who knows how to sing, she gave it a shot and succeeded.

But it's in vlogging that Kristel found her niche. She noted it was just an experiment she never knew would click---but it did.

She is known for her cover versions of popular songs. Many of her video entries have trended.

 
"Na-inspire ako so why not ituloy ko. 'Di ko na imagine na mag-vlog ako, eh mahiyain akong tao hindi lang halata."


It's singer Yeng Constantino who encouraged her to vlog when they worked together at a concert in Canada.

"Sabi niya why not mag-vlog daw ako kasi meron na daw akong audience, subscribers. Sabi ko 'Hindi ko kaya Ate' kasi naisip ko mag-hire pa ako ng editor, magastos," she said. 

Beisdes, Kristel thought it just is not her "forte."

"But then may isang event na gusto kong i-feature. Kako mag-vlog ako, mag-video ako para may ma-keep ako sa sarili ko kasi memorable. Tapos nu'ng pinost ko gumawa ako ng bagong channel para hindi ko hahalo sa mga song covers ko para less expectation, less pressure kung hindi siya mag-hit, okay lang kasi bago nga lang ako, 'di ko forte ang vlogging.

"Pero nu'ng pagka-post ko nag-trend agad siya sa Facebook, at na-realize ko na kaya ko pala. So du'n nagsimula na na-realize ko na sobrang na-appreciate ng tao 'yung hard work ko."

Thanks to vlogging, many of her dreams have come true.

"Sabi ko baka nga para ako sa digital world. Du'n ko na-realize... kasi ang dami kong pwedeng maging -- actor, singer, vlogger... hindi ko alam kung saan mag-concentrate. Pero ngayon masasabi ko mas nag-focus ako sa vlogging, 'yun 'yung mas na-e-enjoy ko ngayon eh," she revealed. 

To date vlogging gas afforded Kristel to finish school, travel the world, build her dream house, buy cars, and many more.
