WATCH: Lyca Gairanod revisits old home, turns emotional recalling hard life

Lyca Gairanod took a walk down memory lane when she returned to their home in Tanza, Cavite recently.
On her latest vlog, the 15-year-old singer gave viewers a tour of the place and shared precious memories.
Lyca felt sentimental seeing some of the furniture, and looking out through a window that gave a view of the sea where she would practice vocalization with her father.
"Napakasarap tumira sa ganitong bahay. Sobrang presko. 'Di ko kayang kalimutan kung saan ako nanggaling. Hanggang ngayon gusto ko bumalik sa buhay namin dati pero thankful ako sa blessing na natatanggap ko, na nakakain kami ng pamilya ko ng maayos," she said.
The young star recalled among the challenges her family encountered was evacuating every time there was a typhoon in the province.
Lyca rose to fame when she won the first season of "The Voice Kids Philippines" six years ago. She landed a recording contract that resulted in the release of albums and staging of concerts. Later, she tried her hand at acting, appearing in different teleseryes as well as in the movies.
Prior, she and her family collected plastic materials, bottles, and other recyclable items for added income. Her father was a fisherman, and her mother scavenged used bottles and old newspapers.
Back then, even at a young age, Lyca would help her mother by singing for their neighbors in exchange for money and food.
