Jinri Park from actress to waitress: 'I am not ashamed'

It's been awhile since people learned Korean DJ and model Jinri Park left her glamorous life in the Philippines to lead a quiet married life in Australia.

I touched base with the “PBB Lucky 7” celebrity housemate recently after seeing her Instagram post that shows her wearing an apron and waitress’ trainee I.D..

I asked her if it was for real or a prank for her almost 1 million followers.

“This is my life now, ate,” she said. “I am now in my 30s and I must admit my life in my 20’s there in the Philippines is what others may call glamorous— working as a DJ, an events host, a model, being dolled up for photoshoots, working as an actress in television…

“But now that I am in Australia, I’d like to think ahead. My life goal is to finish a degree I will use until I grow old. I graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and now proceeding to study another degree.”

Jinri said that tuition fee is very expensive in Sydney so she needs to help her husband financially.

“That’s why I got a job as waitress and maite d’. I am not ashamed serving in a restaurant because this is good decent work. My parents always taught the value of hard work and its benefits in the end.”

I admire this woman because as FHM’s top 7 sexiest woman in the Philippines before, I am sure she had affluent suitors.

Yet she wisely chose to lead a simple life with a man she truly loves.

So, when you see Jinri in Sydney serving you, talk to her. Tell her you recognize her and start a conversation.
