Jessy and Luis share deep thoughts about love and settling down someday

The recent "heart-to-heart" talk between celebrity couple Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano revealed some of their thoughts on the years-long relationship they have.

In the vlog, Luis asked Jessy if there's anything he said in the past that she doubted.

"Na papakasalan mo ako," Jessy immediately answered.

She then explained it just boils down to "trust issues" given her previous experiences.

The two also talked about how and when she realized she was falling for him.

Jessy said it was on one of his birthdays after they had a long talk.

"So much positivity naramdaman ko nu'n. Para sa akin 'This person is a good man. This person is such a positive person.' It's just so nice to talk to such a relatable guy. So sabi ko may chance na maging kami," she shared.

 
But, actually, it took more months before Cupid came calling.

"Mid-June na realize ko na lagi kang nagsasabing 'I love you,' ako thank you ng thank you. Pero nu'ng June 25, 2016, na-realize ko during one of those time na nag-'I love you' ka na I want to say I love you back."

Jessy revealed Luis is not her "ideal guy" at first, as she likes them moreno. Ultimately, though, his sense of humor won her over.

And what finally made her say yes to be his Howhow (their term of endearment for each other)?


"For the first time in my life pinili ko kung ano 'yung gusto ko kasi for the longest time, I would always consider so many things before making a decision," she said.


"Hindi ko na siya pinagisipan. Naramdaman ko na lang siya. Parang sabi ko sa sarili ko hindi ko na siya pag iisipan, hahayaan ko na lang sarili ko... Being happy with you was the reason why I said yes. 'Yun ang importante dapat happy ka."


Jessy admitted she can't wait for the day when everything is back to normal. By then, they will be able to fulfill their dreams, hopefully including settling down by the beach .

Luis also gave his two cents about their four-year relationship. 


He said that among reasons he fell for her is that they "complement" each other.


"Para tayong Lego, parang puzzle. Kung anong pagkukulang ko bilang ako, napupunan mo 'yun and I would like to think the other away around," the actor said.


Luis was also game when the 27-year-old actress asked if he ever thought of breaking up with her whenever they fight.

 
"Oh sure," he answered. "Lahat naman tayo may matinding away. It's not always lambingan. Umaabot tayo sa point na maiisip natin baka nga meant to be separate paths, na things may be better for you individually if you go down different paths but nalalampasan naman 'yun."
