ABS-CBN exports more telenovelas, movies

ABS-CBN Corporation, the Philippines’ leading media company, continues to generate revenues from the export of its locally-produced shows to viewers across three continents.

 In a statement, the firm said it is set to bring 16 hit titles to international territories including Africa, Asia, and Latin America this year and in 2021.

Of the 16 ABS-CBN programs, 14 will be shown in Africa starting this year. In Latin America, a classic drama will premiere in Ecuador this August—the third ABS-CBN show to air in Ecuador.

In Asia, one show will have an Indonesian remake. Currently, three ABS-CBN shows are airing in Myanmar, namely.

The Pacific Islands will also be enjoying two shows as they air this August and September.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s hit romantic fantasy will be shown in Brunei this year. This follows the successful showing of two movies in Vietnam recently.

ABS-CBN has produced the highest-rating shows in the Philippines and has been recognized as a reliable foreign content provider in the global market. Its films and shows are available across other territories through ABS-CBN International Distribution.

The firm recently launched Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite TV across the Philippines and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube and Facebook to broadcast and stream its programs following the denial of its legislative franchise for its free TV and radio operations last month.

Its shows and films are also available on iWant and TFC streaming platforms.

The company continues to syndicate its content through various streaming services and operate other businesses that do not require a legislative franchise, such as international licensing and distribution, digital, and cable TV.
