Six months since marrying singer Sarah Geronimo, actor Matteo Guidicelli still feels like it just happened yesterday.

In an Instagram Live broadcast with G3 San Diego recently, the actor could not stop gushing over his wife.

“Every time we get off the car or every time we go to bed or every time we wake up or every time we have breakfast, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, it has happened after six years. We are actually driving a car together, having breakfast together. We have a home together. We have a future together.’ It’s incredible,” he said.

Sarah was his girlfriend for six years before they tied the knot in February. Matteo said they had challenges along the way but they were able to hurdle it.

Taking that as inspiration, he believes if something is meant for you, it will happen in God's perfect time.

“It will happen for the right reasons if you have the right reasons. I really believe if there’s an objective you want to go to and achieve, you really have to have that honest reason in your heart on why you want to do it. Because if you have some malice or iba ang gusto mo, it’s not gonna happen.”

When the host asked if there’s one moment with Sarah that he found himself the happiest, he said it was the day he proposed to her.

“I planned it but when the time came, parang I couldn’t do it. The words wouldn’t come out from my lips. I was hoping . I don’t know because you’re in that state na you don’t want to be too sure. What if nag-hindi?” he said.

Matteo is certain he and Sarah are destined for each other, saying God placed them in the same place at the right time when they were both ready.

Every day is a learning process for the couple.

Matteo admitted they disagree on things sometimes. 

“...But at the end of the day, we always make it a point that we look eye to eye and say we have to compromise. This is the first time we are living together. Everything is very new to us. Very masaya. To see her do all these things she’s never done before, it’s amazing,” he said.

Trying to be the best

G3 commended Matteo's dedication to “fight” for his relationship with Sarah. 

During the interview, he also reminisced how he was able to pursue his wife. 

According to the actor, he had a hard time approaching Sarah because there were always a lot of people around her.

The actor even called himself “the biggest torpe in the world” during his first few attempts to approach the actress. 

“I’m so far from perfect,” Matteo said when asked what qualities he has that made Sarah say yes. “Every single day I try to be the best for her.”

Matteo then lauded his wife for becoming the woman she is now. 

“Kung alam lang ng mga tao how hard and passionate she is,” he said. “Every time I see her perform on stage, I’m like ‘Wow, that’s my wife,’ like, I forget that’s the person I live with."
