Looks like Filipino-American fighter Mark Striegl would have to wait for his anticipated debut in the Octagon.
Striegl was supposed to clash with fellow newcomer Timur Valiev of Russia on Saturday but got pulled out from the card at the last minute, several media outlets reported.
Multiple sources, who requested anonymity, confirmed this development to mixed martial arts news site MMA Junkie.
Additional report from Russian scribe Igor Lazorin stated that Valiev is set to face Trevin Jones in replacement of Striegl, who holds a professional 18-2 MMA record.
UFC, however, has yet to make an official statement regarding the matter.
The bout initially served as undercard for the main event fight between Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Striegl is the latest Filipino fighter to sign with the promotion, joining the list of Brandon Vera and Mark Muñoz, to name a few.
The Baguio native fighter is holed up at the Alliance MMA Gym in Las Vegas.
