Police arrested a female police sergeant after she was accused of extorting money from three women whom she earlier ordered arrested for estafa.

Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, director of the Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG), said the arrest stemmed from the complaint of one of the victims.
He identified the arrested cop as Staff Sgt. Clarissa dela Cruz, who is assigned to the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Holding and Accounting Unit.
Dela Cruz is reportedly engaged in the online selling of face shields using one of the complainants as agent.
When the agent failed to remit the earnings for the face shield, dela Cruz allegedly asked the operatives of the Novaliches Police Station in Quezon City to arrest the agent as with two others for estafa.
dela Cruz allegedly did not file the case immediately demanding for the trio to instead pay her P50,000 for the botched transaction.
Lee said what dela Cruz did amounts to robbery and extortion.
She was arrested in an entrapment operation at around 3 p.m. on Thursday in Sta. Mesa in Manila.
Seized during the operation were P10,000 marked money, a cellular phone and a motorcycle.
Lee appealed to the public to report the presence of the PNP personnel involved in any irregularities to the PNP IMEG Hotlines: Smart- 09989702286 or Globe-09957952569 or via IMEG Facebook and Twitter account.
