Actor Tom Rodriguez is surely productive during quarantine and he has even found time and inspiration to write a song in one of the dialects in the Philippines.

The song "Diri La Waray Mahimo," which he performed on video uploaded on Instagram, is his "unofficial entry" to a rap contest in his hometown of Catbalogan in Samar.

"Being a Catbaloganon at heart, but not meeting the current resident criteria, I still wanted to extend my support for their socially distanced Manaragat Festival celebrations. Maaram ako, diri masayon an tanan nga nahitatabo yana...pero marig-on kita...kay WARAY gud kita! ;) Thank you to Homage beats for the awesome track!" he wrote as caption to the post.

In his interview with Aubrey Carampel of GMA News, Tom hopes for his song to serve as encouragement for his fellow Warays amid pandemic.

Before doing the track, Tom joined an online song writing workshop with seasoned rapper Gloc-9.

He even expressed excitement to have been part of Gloc's Batch 3 class.

"Sobrang dami kong natutunan! Salamat sa lahat ng ibinahagi mo samin, idol @glocdash9 !!! Mabuhay ka!," he wrote, along with a screenshot of Zoom meeting he had with the teacher and his co-students.
