The government now allows healthcare workers with permits and papers to travel

Nurses who have been complaining about not being allowed to travel to other countries during the lockdown are now permitted to.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque says the IATF has decided to allow health professionals with OEC issued by POEA and with verified employment contracts (as of March 8) to work abroad again.

Here’s his full statement:

"Kapapasok lang po na balita. Nadesisyunan po ng IATF ngayong hapon na yung mga health professionals na meron na pong mga papeles, ibig sabihin yung OEC na issued ng POEA at yung employment contract na verified as of March 8, 2020 ay pupwede pong lumabas ng bansa.

Uulitin ko po, yung mga health professionals na meron na silang mga OEC issued po ng POEA at meron na pong verified employment contract as of March 8, 2020 ay pupwede pong lumabas ng bansa.

Pwede rin pong lumabas ng bansa ang mga Balik Manggagawa o yung mga nagbabakasyon lamang sa Pilipinas at matagal na pong nagtatrabaho sa abroad.

Sakop pa rin po ang pagdedeploy abroad ng lahat ng health professionals kung wala po silang dokumento on or before March 8, 2020."
