Malacañang is elated by the bicameral conference committee's speedy approval of the final version of the Bayanihan to Recover As One (Bayanihan 2) Act Thursday.
Bayanihan 2 is a bill that aims to stimulate the country's economy while still facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the statement after Sen. Sonny Angara said that the reconciled version will provide a budget of P140 billion to help affected sectors amid the crisis and another P25-billion worth of standby fund.
Roque thanked the Congress for its cooperation with Malacañang.
"Nagagalak po kami na napakabilis po ng pagpasa ng (We are happy with the speedy approval of the) Bayanihan 2," he said.
"We are thankful for the cooperation extended by both houses of Congress," he added.
Roque believes that Congress has been faithful with Malacañang's request regarding the funds.
"I think they were faithful naman po sa request ng Palasyo, hindi po tumaas na masyado (I think they were faithful with the Palace's request, it did not exceed that much)," he said.
"Ang balita ko po mga 160+ billion ang na-approve pero ang proposal ay 140. Pero hindi naman po nagkakalayo (I heard they approved more than P160 billion when the proposal is only P140 billion. It's not that far off)," he added.
The bicameral conference committee's approval of the Bayanihan 2 came almost two months after the first Bayanihan Act expired on June 30.
The original Bayanihan to Heal as One Act gave President Duterte powers to realign the national budget in response to the pandemic and to procure necessary items without the need to follow the procurement process mandated by law.
