Stephan Schrock's goal from 2019 Asian Cup part of fan voting contest

Stephan Schrock’s goal from last year’s Asian Cup was included in a fan voting contest put up by the Asian Football Confederation this week.

The free kick scored by the Philippine Azkals midfielder during a 3-1 loss to Kyrgyzstan is up against Oman’s Muhsen Al Ghassani’s goal also from last year’s tourney in the first round of the AFC Asian Cup Greatest Goals Bracket Challenge.

Thirty others are also part of the bracket that will determine which is considered by fans as the best goal in the history of Asia’s biggest football competition.

Fans can vote for their favorite goals at the AFC’s official site the-afc.com.

Schrock scored from long range during the 80th minute, enabling the Azkals to avoid a shutout loss to Kyrgyzstan in their final Asian Cup group stage assignment in the United Arab Emirates.

It was the only goal scored by the Azkals in their Asian Cup debut after suffering a 1-0 loss to South Korea and 3-0 to China.

Al Ghassani made the list after scoring past the keeper in the 72nd minute to tie the match at 1-1. Oman eventually lost 2-1 after Uzbekistan’s Egor Krimets produced the winner in stoppage time.
