Says unborn daughter is the silver lining for 2020
As part of singer Katy Perry’s promotional efforts for her upcoming album #SMILE, the mom-to-be shares, “"I've been saying I will not write off 2020 because it's not fair to my unborn daughter just yet who obviously is the silver lining." Snippets of the interview were broadcast in GMA network’s “24 Oras,” with video courtesy of MCA Universal.

Though her album launch was delayed, Katy still pushed through. "It’s funny, I was really debating. I think everyone that's putting something out in 2020 is going, 'Is this helping?' And for me, I think this record has a lot of thoughtfulness to it, a lot of hope, a lot of resilience, a lot of joy, a lot of good energy,” she said.

As an added surprise treat, the blooming pregnant mom, dressed in fuchsia pink with colorful candy sprinkle prints, stood up on screen and showed off her baby bump. The fans were ecstatic to get a glimpse of her growing belly, and she ended the interview by reminding fans to take care of themselves, especially in these uncertain times. “Tears are made of salt and saltwater heals you. We take saltwater baths so that our body can be healed. So it’s your body’s way of saying, ‘I’m gonna heal you right now.’ Anyone who's crying and crying a lot, great, they're just healing themselves."
