How Dominic Ochoa stays productive during pandemic
Dominic Ochoa has been selling fruits for income amid pandemic.
The actor, 46, started delivering fruits and other food products in their area last March.
“It is not safe to go to places. Especially ngayon, ang nakukuhanan ngayon ng virus yung grocery, bangko. So iyan ang mga iiwasan nating puntahan," he explained how the idea came about.
According to Dominic, it is important to be productive in this time of pandemic.
“Kaya habang ganito pa sitwasyon, kung walang trabaho, nakapag-isip kami ng misis ko na, ‘Let’s start to be productive, let’s not waste time lying down, just doing social media.’ Pag magso-social media kami, it’s more of promoting the products that we are selling," he said. "And dito nga, kahit dito-dito lang sa amin namin binebenta. Kami po nagde-deliver, ako mismo nagde-deliver, actually. Meron kayong ginagawa…you choose to be productive, in short. Hindi yung puro na lang tayo angal, kasi hindi naman tayo tutulungan ng Diyos kung hindi naman natin tutulungan ang ating mga sarili.”
In a house-tour video courtesy of Star Magic, Dominic showed off their products. There are dips-in-a-jar and tinapa-in-a-jar, ice cream, wagyu cubes, and steaks.
Although the profit is not that big, Dominic said he finds fulfillment in doing so as it helps him to put food on the table.
“Maliit lang ang kita, pero at the end of the day, nakakapagbigay saya sa amin, at saka meron kaming naihahain sa aming pamilya na makakain.”
He added: "So yun po ang pinagkakaabalahan namin kapag wala po kaming trabaho ni misis. Especially nowadays, kailangan nating mag-isip ng mga bagay-bagay para pagkakitaan. Let’s try to be productive, guys.”
