From luxurious mansions to million-dollar wedding, Christine Quinn is at the top of her league

If you are fond of looking at luxurious houses (probably getting inspiration for your own dream home in the future), it’s good to check out Netflix series “Selling Sunset.”

Now on its third season, the show revolves around the high-end residential properties in Los Angeles marketed by the Oppenheim Group's real estate brokerage firm. The series tracks the group of agents as they navigate their personal and professional lives.

In a virtual interview that included Bulletin Entertainment, one of the lead stars, Christine Quinn, talked about the aspect that makes the show a must-watch.

According to her, it’s not all about the million-dollar homes. Rather, fans can get easily hooked on fashion and major drama too.

While admitting that real estate is not her niche, having no background in Engineering or architecture, Christine is able to pull it off with her penchant for all things beautiful, including houses.

“I love beautiful things. You know, as they say, you can’t get experience unless you do it. So here I am,” she said.

Christine is seen as this sort of “bad girl” on “Selling Sunset” --- and she loves it.

“Let’s just say that I am absolutely the villain on the show. I mean, there's no question about that," she said. "But I enjoy it and I relish it. Do I amp it up and have fun because I know I’m on camera? Absolutely.”

Christine continued: “I mean, like, I think a lot of us girls do. With the drama, yeah, we get a little amped up, but it's fun! I really, really like to bring it so I have fun with it.”

The drama on “Selling Sunset” may be amped up when the cameras are on, but Christine said they don’t “fight” in the Oppenheim Group even off-cam.

In fact, she has three favorite colleagues.

“Maya just so honest and funny and I love her sense of humor. Also, Amanza so silly and goofy and we're like funny friends---we FaceTime each other when we're doing funny things. We're just like such like goofballs together.

“And then Davina, because she's just really loyal. And she's such a hard worker and I really respect her work ethic and everything that she does.”

Being on the show has made Christine realize a thing or two. She noticed that people can get mean at times especially on social media. She admitted receiving death threats for her effective performance.

Her advice to them? Just chill.

“To be honest, I didn’t join social media until the show started. And as a 30-year-old woman, never ever I imagined in my wildest dream that I will be getting hate messages and death threats for it,” she said. “But I guess the take-away from this is to not get heated when watching the show.”

Christine pointed out there are advantages and disadvantages to being a woman in the real estate industry.

“The advantage is, I guess, I am a woman,” she noted. “However, the disadvantage is that sometimes I am not being treated as equal and people are giving me a hard time because I am a woman. That’s the reality.”

Dramatic wedding

Spoiler alert: The finale of season 3 features Christine’s wedding with her now-husband Christian Richard, a software engineer.

The ceremony held in December 2019 was orchestrated with a Gothic Winter Wonderland-themed: Imagine black swans, gilded thrones, falling snow and bleeding cakes.

Her wedding gowns -- colored black – were designed by Galia Lahav, the person behind the dresses of Beyonce, among other celebrities.

Christine spilled that the wedding cost upwards of $1M.

A self-confessed “gothic Barbie,” Christine said she had always wants her wedding to be different and bold.

“We actually planned the wedding in two months. I always want a black wonderland theme but I put a twist into it by making it a wicked wonderland. Galia Lahav designed two black wedding gowns for me, which is actually created by 28 seamstresses,” she shared.

What about baby plans, a writer asked.

“Definitely . Maybe next year, I want to have five kids like the Kardashians,” she said.

Charitable side

Christine is one of the stars of ACE (Authentic Celebrity Experiences), a platform where anyone can request for short video messages, including shout-outs, birthday greetings, or inspirational messages from a celebrity of their choice.

“I love that people can reach out to me and I can answer questions about anything—whether it's advice on real estate, boys, confidence—I really love that it's connecting people in so many different ways on a different level,” she said.

Other “Selling Sunset” cast members are also part of ACE, including Maya Vander, Heather Rae Young, Davina Potratz, Mary Fitzgerald, Romain Bonnet, and Amanza Smith.

Christine is doing ACE for a cause. The proceeds of her videos will all go to the victims from the recent Beirut explosion.

“This can bring us all together. This is a platform to connect with the other side of the world. And I’m super excited to do this,” said she, who also supports causes for breast cancer awareness.

ACE was launched in the Philippines in July, and has become the biggest platform of its kind in the country. Some of the biggest local celebrities onboard include Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, showbiz royalties KC Concepcion, Alice Dixson and Ruffa Gutierrez, top matinee idols Marco Gumabao and Tony Labrusca and some of the country’s superstar-athletes like Thirdy Ravena, Marck Espejo, Neil Etheridge and Phil Younghusband.

“Now that most of us are still on lockdown, and most pageants, local movies, TV series, sporting events are temporarily put on hold, this is one way for fans to still engage with their idols” said Dene Schonknecht, CEO of ACE Entertainment Holdings based in Singapore via press release.

“While most of us were stressed during the start of the pandemic lockdown, me and my business partners conceptualized, planned, incorporated and launched this celebrity shoutout platform. So far, our biggest market are Filipinos living here or abroad,” added Frank Briones, co-founder and head of ACE PH Business.

Fans can simply log in online via www.ace.video; request for Birthday Greetings, Words of Inspiration and Tips from their favorite stars; include the parameters of the message they want either for themselves or for a friend; and receive the said shoutout on their email within five days. Fans may even opt to post it on their own social media pages.
