KCC Philippines' 'Korea at Home' brings K-culture online

Amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines has launched the “Korea at Home” campaign to present Korean culture online.

It brings musical performances, food, arts, pop culture, movies, museum exhibits and tours on the screens of K-culture fanatics, which they can enjoy while staying at home.

KCC Philippines’ Facebook page offers various options to fans of Korean culture. The live-streamed events will follow the regular programming composed of Arts, Music, Performance, Food and Museum and Exhibitions.

The campaign’s Music and Performance have already presented performances from the Korea National Opera, National Gugak Center, and Korean National Ballet in addition to delicious recipes of guksu bibim (spicy noodles), sengbogeo-eumjeok (pan-fried abalone skewers) and semyeon (mung bean noodles in omija honey water).

The Exhibition Tour of The Modern and Contemporary Korean Writing courtesy of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea and the 360° VR Tour of the Changdeok Palace have also drawn interest. A unique Exhibition Tour of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea’s Collection was also held recently.

“Korea at Home” this month will show “Parasite” director Bong Joon-ho’s most favorite films courtesy of the Korean Film Archives.

In August, K-pop, quiz bees, contests, and various video tutorials will be held under the campaign.
