WATCH: Philsports Arena transformed into a quarantine center

The conversion of PhilSports Arena was completed in three days, making it the fourth “mega quarantine” facility in Metro Manila

Anticipating a rise in cases of the novel coronavirus disease in the country, the government has prepared several large venues to serve as quarantine areas.

This comes as the government plans to carry out massive testing of persons under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs), as well as to provide assistance to hospitals that have reached maximum capacity.

Among the latest quarantine centers to be put up was the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig City, which now has a 132-bed capacity and two nurse stations.

Other facilities that have been converted into isolation sites were the Philippine International Convention Center Forum Halls, World Trade Center, and the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
