Cignal's Rachel Anne Daquis leads morning exercise for COVID-19 patients in Pasig

Volleyball star Rachel Anne Daquis led a morning exercise Thursday for the patients holed up in Pasig City's Centralized Quarantine Facility at Rizal High School.

No less than Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto invited the Cignal HD spiker to grace the quarantine facility in celebration of the city's 447th foundation.

"Do you know that exercise in general can help boost your body's natural defenses against illness and infection. Stay fit, stay safe, stay awesome everyone," the 32-year-old Daquis wrote on Instagram Thursday. "Thank you Mayor Vico Sotto and Doc Gar Eufemio for inviting me."

The patients practiced proper health protocols such as social distancing and wearing face masks as seen on the videos and photos posted by Daquis on Instagram.

The Pasig mayor thanked the Philippine Super Liga ambassadress for leading the fitness routine.

"Mukhang masigla ang mga pasyente ng Centralized Quarantine Facility natin kaninang umaga. Maraming salamat kay Ms. Rachel Anne Daquis sa pag lead sa exercise routine!" Sotto wrote on Twitter the same day.

Sotto also replied to Daquis' post: "Thank you for making our patients happy! Some of them have been away from their families for weeks. Thank you also to Doc Gar for making this possible!"

Rizal High School was converted into a community quarantine facility in May for COVID-19 patients in Pasig.
