Toyota introduces Hiace for cargo

Seatless option designed for logistics and SMEs

Recognizing the need to transport cargo as well as people, the Toyota Hiace, the country’s number one utility van, now offers a model specially-tailored for business in the form of the Cargo Variant. Based on the Commuter variant, the Hiace Cargo is everything customers love about the van, now optimized to transport loads of larger sizes. The seat-less version further expands its versatility to more industries.

Toyota’s Hiace lineup continues to grow. In 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) introduced the full model change Hiace in the form of the Super Grandia Elite, and GL Tourer variants to cater to more luxurious markets. Meanwhile, the Commuter variant continues to be the staple people-mover used as company shuttles for private use, and UV express to serve the public. Now the Hiace Cargo makes it a capable goods transportation solution, ideal for logistics companies and SMEs.

All Toyota Hiaces are backed by the Toyota standard of quality, durability and reliability, plus a host of new comfort, convenience and safety functionalities that made it the preferred choice in the utility van segment. As of May 2020, the Hiace holds 66% market share in its segment. 

“TMP in pursuit of providing for the needs of the market, has introduced the Hiace Cargo to cater to customers who have requirements to transport load in a safe and secure way. It is also timely as we are also able to cater to the needs of the market for goods transfer during this pandemic situation,” explained Sherwin Chualim, Toyota Motor Philippines First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations.  “The Philippines is the largest Hiace market outside Japan. We want to continue expanding our Hiace line-up for more versatile use.”

The Hiace Cargo is now available and retails at PHP 1,101,000.
