While many are scrambling toward possible sources of income during the pandemic, Network Actor (NA) seems to be chill, not showing signs of worry at all.
Some of his co-workers in limbo at work even noticed a bit of flaunting by NA. For example, his Loved One (HW) has continued to buy pricey items and without her buying, the sellers would not have any source of income. This activity keeps LO busy, which is one matter off NA’s mind. Moreover, NA likes to spoil LO, which is the reason he allows her to do what makes her happy.
Meanwhile, the neighbors noticed the presence of non-resident cars in their midst. Sometimes, they see NA being fetched and brought home by one of the cars. One time, an Influential Personality (IP) was allegedly seen in the car. As far as HW knows, NA works for IP, and she has gotten used to the odd evening hours NA leaves for “work.”
Nonetheless, NA has not been greedy with his finances. With his huge salary from IP, NA allows him to lend money to fellow talents. One time, Fellow Actor (FA) joked if he could also be given work by IP. NA laughed at the idea. Subsequently, he turned down FA and said that he’s involved in a special project with IP, and IP does not need any one else but him.
Survival Means
Given the pandemic, Female Talent (FT) felt her anxiety level rising. As her projects were shelved, FT faced the reality that she might not have enough to cover her lifestyle. She feared returning to her old life and, thus, she decided to act asap.
When FT was still busy with acting, she received word that Non-showbiz Man (NM) was interested in her. At the time, FT was able to support her lifestyle with her projects and side dates. Hence, NM was not given attention until during the pandemic. FT contacted the booking agent, who arranged for her meeting with NM. The offer was too good to pass as well.
After their initial meeting, NM wanted a second one. The apprehension of FT grew, as she was doing her activity without the knowledge of her Major Contact (MC). MC used to arrange all her bookings, thus, gets a commission. As FT has arranged the meeting with NM without MC’s knowledge, she feared the wrath she might receive. She also feared MC might not agree if NM was the client. Nonetheless, NM assured FT that if MC makes trouble, he’ll take care of MC.
To make sure someone knows what she’s doing, FT confided to a friend her activities with NM. NM, according to FT, is kind to her. These days, FT could only think of financial security and being with NM assures her that she would not have to starve.
Won’t Work
When a network signed up a Newbie Talent (NT), the management had high expectations and his followers were excited to see him with a station. Prior to signing up, NT has gained followers on social media and the exposure on mainstream media would add stock to his career.
But after a few weeks, the management found out about NT’s New Connection (NC).
As image is particular to any talent, the management asked NT to explain about NC. NT felt the request was intruding in his personal life. Thus, he did not respond at all. Accordingly, he was rumored to have said the network should devote its energy to other talents who could have skeletons in their closets that are more controversial than what they think he has. He has nothing to hide, unlike those talents, whom he even named.
The network heard about NT’s remark and call slips were no longer sent to him. In a snap, he was dropped. After some time, NT wondered what happened to their agreement. He followed up his status and the reply was that his contract was not at all exclusive and he could find work somewhere else. NT, however, was not finished and claimed that he was used by the network. The answer was that he was paid for his work anyway and things are run that way in the industry.
