Steve Dailisan loses job as pilot amid COVID-19 pandemic

Many people cheered for ex-GMA reporter Steve Dailisan when he pursued his long-time dream of becoming a pilot.
Unfortunately, Steve revealed over the weekend that he lost his job amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In January of this year, I was released as First Officer after some grueling months of training," he began on his Instagram post that shows a photo of him in pilot uniform. "Only to realize it would be the shortest stint in my entire professional career. In a matter of 10 months, I lost it. COVID-19 stole the very heart of my dream-flying."
Steve admitted he didn't think the pandemic would hit him this hard.
"It's a difficult time to be a source of inspiration but believe there will always be a BRIGHT NEW DAY. This is just a step back, not a setback," he promised.
This isn't the end of his pilot dream though, Steve assured.
"This definitely will not be the end, rather the beginning of bigger dreams. I am certain, we will continue our quest to reaching the skies to be with our stars!”
He thanked the airline he worked for, saying that while it was "shortlived moment," he will be forever grateful to all he'd flown with.
"Ultimately, its a humbling experience."
