Nadine Lustre, Jane de Leon express support for ABS-CBN

Young stars Jane de Leon and Nadine Lustre are the latest celebrities who’ve reaffirmed their solidarity with ABS-CBN amid what the network is going through after their failed bid for franchise renewal. 

On their respective social media accounts, the two expressed support for Kapamilya.

"We all know how hard life is with so many things happening globally and here in our country. Especially now that we are going through unique difficulties. Each of us has a different approach on how to resolve and overcome these challenges," she started. 

"Masakit po sa akin ang nangyari sa ABS-CBN dahil pangalawang tahanan ko na rin po ito na syang nagbigay sa akin ng mga opportunities to gradually reach my goal in life, na unti-unting nagpabago sa buhay ko at ng aking pamilya. And I will forever be thankful sa ABS-CBN and its Management."

She noted that show of support for the network should not just be measured by people taking to the streets.

"Alam kong para sa nakakarami sa atin, masakit ang closure ng ABS-CBN. Nakiki-isa at nakikisimpatya rin po ako sa mga kapwa ko Kapamilya na nawalan ng kabuhayan. However, let us not forget that in the bigger picture, we are still at risk because we all have an invisible enemy to deal with," she pointed out. 

Jane continued that their, health, as well as those of their loved ones’ are at risk as the COVID infection rate in the country continues to rise.

"Let's not forget that our Frontliners continues to face life and death situation as they are being challenged in saving more lives. Dadagdag pa ba tayo sa lumalabong bilang at patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID cases sa ating Bansa?," she said. "Masama po bang maging positibo sa ating pananaw sa kabila ng kahirapan at paghihinagpis?"

The 21-year-old actress, who is set to play Darna in the upcoming Philippine superhero film based on the comic book, said people should not allow the gloom to doom plans of progress.

"Even if the world stops, we still have to keep moving forward," she said.

Jane ended her post by declaring prayers will always be the "strongest and most powerful weapon" in this time of crisis.

"Let us keep the faith. God bless po sa ating lahat! This is Jane de Leon, your Kapamilya."

Nadine Lustre shared her opinion in a series of Instagram stories. 

"Gaya ninyo, Kapamilya din ako. Gaya ninyo, natatakot ako sa mga nangyayari. Gaya ninyo, nalungkot din ako para sa 11,000+ na taong nawalan ng trabaho. Gaya ninyo, umiiyak ako para sa sariling bansa. Dahil gaya ninyo, Pilipino din ako," she wrote. 

The 26-year-old actress reiterated she supports the network. 

"Kasama ako sa laban na ito. Patuloy na tumutulong at nagdadasal sa kabila ng pagluluksa," she promised. 

"Sana ay ibaling natin ang atensiyon natin sa mga bagay na nararapat pagtuunan ng pansin. Pakiusap, huwag tayong magaway away at maghati. Wala na tayong oras."

Recall that early this month the vote, 70 against the fran­chise bid and 11 in fa­vor, ended ABS-CBN’s bid to re­turn on the air af­ter it stopped op­er­a­tions on May 4, the day its pre­vi­ous 25-year con­gres­sional fran­chise ex­pired.
