8 Asian singers to release 'Me Me We' song of hope to overcome COVID-19

Eight singers from South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand will be releasing the song “Me Me We” as a global campaign to offer a message of hope for people amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

In South Korea, the artists who have participated in the song are Ailee, Ravi of idol group VIXX and rookie boy band NewKidd. The three contributed by donating their talent upon hearing about the production of the song.

Rapper Quest from the Philippines is also part of the global song project along with Vietnam’s popular rock band Chillies, Thailand’s female artist PAAM, Indonesia’s R&B singer Rahmania Astrini and Malaysia’s singer-songwriter Aizat Amdan.

Sponsored by the Gangnam-gu District Office in Seoul and organized by Warner Music, “Me Me We” will be released on July 31 in the six Asian countries. Proceeds generated by the song will be donated to the Cultural Foundation.

Because of the travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the singers recorded the song in their own country and sent the copy to the producers in South Korea.

Bulletin Entertainment met with seven-member NewKidd at their agency J-Flo Entertainment’s headquarters in Cheongdam, Gangnam in Seoul last October where the boy band discussed their music and comeback plans.

Member Jinkwon said that “our goal is to show many types of colors in our music and to become the singer that communicates with fans. We promise to continue making our utmost effort. Please watch how we do.”

NewKidd debuted in April last year and last August, they received the Next Artist Award at the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards.
