Alden Richards has been tapped by the Department of Health (DOH) as ambassador for their project campaign against the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

On the social media account of the agency, the actor is touted "BIDA Champion" in a commercial for the "BIDA Solusyon" campaign.

The letter B in the acronym stands for "Bawal walang mask," that aim to protect people from spreading the virus.  I is for "I-sanitize ang mga kamay. Iwas hawak sa mga bagay," noting how the discipline of cleaning one's hand is crucial in defending oneself from the virus.

Letter D, which is for "Dumistansya ng isang metro," talks about the importance of maintaining distance to avoid close contact with others whether they're positive from the virus or not.

A stands for "Alamin ang totoong impormasyon" that reiterates the importance of fact-checking to avoid getting fake news.

"Samahan ang ating BIDA champion na si Alden Richards na talunin ang COntraVIDa!... Ikaw, ako, tayong lahat—we can all #BIDASolusyon sa COVID-19!," DOH wrote.
