Returning OFW from Saudi is 19th COVID case in Basilan

DAVAO CITY - A 38-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was recorded as the 19th confirmed case of coronavirus disease in Basilan province.

In a statement on Wednesday, July 1, the provincial government of Basilan said the Basilan Interagency Task Force (BIATF) tagged the patient as BAS019, who is from Barangay Samal Village, Maluso.

“He is a returning overseas Filipino with travel history from Riyadh Saudi Arabia-Cagayan-Zamboanga,” it added.

It said the patient had close contact with another COVID-19 patient. He was also found to be asymptomatic.

The patient is currently at the municipal Isolation Facility in Maluso.
