DOH warns public on fake email scam

By Analou De Vera The Department of Health (DOH) has warned the public against fake emails made by scammers who are attempting to trick people that they were from the DOH in an effort to steal personal data. Kami po ngayon ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga otoridad--sa Philippine National Police at NBI upang matukoy at mahuli ang nasa likod ng insidenteng ito. ,” said Vergeire. “Amin pong kinokondena ang ganitong panloloko at pananamantala sa panahon ng pandemya. Sisiguraduhin po natin na mananagot ang mga responsable dito. ,” she added. Vergeire advised the public not to open emails originating from these addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. “Hindi po kunektado ang mga email addresses na ito sa Kagawaran ng Kalusugan at sa kahit anong attached agencies ng DOH. ,” she said. “Ang mga email na galing sa mga addresses na ito ay maaring fraudulent attack o mapanlinlang na paraan para nakawin ang inyong personal information and data ,” she added. Vergeire urged the public to disregard the email and do not click the attached forms. She likewise encouraged them to report it to the DOH Call Center Hotline at (632) 8651-7800 local 5003-5004 or email [email protected].
