No. 2 most wanted drug personality nabbed in Lanao del Sur

By Bonita Ermac ILIGAN CITY – The second most wanted drug personality in Lanao del Sur was arrested by military and police personnel in Barangay Matampay-Dimarao, Bubong, Lanao del Sur Saturday, June 13. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Brigade commander, identified the suspect as Samsoding Ali Macasasa, 34, who also yielded to government authorities his M16 rifle, grenade launcher, rifle grenade, two hand grenades and 35 grams of shabu. Based on reports, Macasasa was also a known supporter of the Dawlaw-Islamiya, a Lanao-based terrorist group. Cuerpo urge the local residents to continue cooperating with law enforcement forces, and report to them the presence of criminal and other threat groups in their communities “(Macasasa) was a high value target, and we hope to arrest more most wanted personalities with the collaboration of the police and other law enforcement agencies in order to make the province more peaceful and drug-free,” added Cuerpo.
