"In behalf of my ka-barangays, I would like to thank Asec. Celine Pialago for choosing our barangay. This is very big help, especially now that we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic," he said in Filipino.
"I would also like to express my gratitude to all the donors of Malasakit Movement," the chairman added.
The MMDA spokesperson said they strictly implemented social distancing during the distribution, saying the food packs were given by batch.
The food packs each contain five kilos of rice, cans of corned beef, and packs of instant noodles.

According to her, many well-meaning people have been contacting her NGO asking how to donate goods.
"We've been receiving many queries from generous people who want to help and donate to the Malasakit Movement. We are very grateful to them," she said.
"If they want to reach out to us, they may call or text the Malasakit Movement at 09270243403," she said.
Pialago said that "Bayanihan" spirit is very alive during the community quarantine.
