As Metro Manila transitions to the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), returning workers were reminded by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to bring their company identification cards (IDs) and basic documents to not cause delay at checkpoints.
Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, MMDA spokesperson, said returning workers should not forget to bring their necessary documents so they have proof that they are allowed to get back to work.
"Please prepare our basic documents so that we will not cause inconvenience or be asked by our ground personnel to go back," she said during the Laging Handa public briefing on Monday.
Pialago said there are more vehicles on the road since Saturday after the metropolis transitioned to MECQ.
With this, she said that PNP-HPG added more checkpoints and ground personnel
"Many motorists were asked to go back or go out of their vehicles when they were unable to show IDs and basic documents. These are the usual problems that we observed," the MMDA spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Pialago said the situation will change once Metro Manila shifts to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) wherein public transportation will be allowed, saying there will a single route along EDSA.
"Once Metro Manila transitions to GCQ, single route will be implemented along EDSA," she said.
"If before we have around 2, 500 city buses plying EDSA every day, there will only be 600 buses once we impose GCQ. The lone route will be Monumento to MOA, vice versa," Pialago explained.
Under MECQ, there will be limited movement within zone for essential services and work, operation of selective manufacturing and processing plants up to maximum of 50 percent workforce .
