Tarlac police report 191 arrests, death of 2 drug peddlers in simultaneous ops

By Freddie Velez CAMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City -- In 144 operations conducted by the Tarlac Police Provincial Office this month, 191 were arrested, 2 drug peddlers were slain, and illegal drugs, various firearms and ammunition, and bet money were seized. Tarlac Police Director Col. David N. Poklay said out of the 16 anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the operatives in the municipalities of Bamban, Capas, Concepcion, Gerona, La Paz, Moncada, Paniqui, Tarlac City and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 16 persons were arrested. Two drug suspects were killed in a brief shootout, and a total of 62 sachets of shabu weighing 19,091 grams were confiscated. Meanwhile, in the 72 operations on the implementation of warrantx of arrest in Bamban, Camilimg, Capas, Concepcion, Gerona, La Paz, Mayantoc, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Jose, San Manuel, Sta Ignacia, Tarlac City Victoria, Second PMFC and Provincial Special Operations Task Group, 70 persons were arrested vof different violations. Poklay also said that out of the seven implementations of search warrants, seven persons were arrested. Confiscated items were a Cal .45 pistol; 5 cal.38 revolvers; one cal .22 Pistol; 1 M16 Assault Rifle; 1 Shotgun; 10 M16 Magazines; 3 Cal .45 Magazines; 22 Cal .22 Ammunitions; 17 Cal .38 Ammunitions; 8 Cal .45 Ammunitions; 10 Cal .9mm Ammunitions; 45 Cal. 5.56 Ammunitions; 1 Hand Grenade and 8 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of 15.37 grams were confiscated. Out of the 20 anti-illegal gambling operations conducted in Anao, Camiling, Concepcion, Gerona, La Paz, Mayantoc, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Clemente, San Manuel and Tarlac City, 73 persons were arrested and bet money amounting to P6,630 in different denominations, and assorted illegal gambling paraphernalia were confiscated. In the 17 Police Response Operations conducted to include Direct Assault, Resistance & Disobedience to Agent of Person in Authority, Alarm & Scandal & Violation of Art 126 of the RPC, PD 533 (Anti-Cattle Rustling), RA 9262, Theft, RA 7610, RA 9165, BP 33 (Prohibited Acts Involving Petroleum Products), RA 10591 & Grave Threat, 25 persons were arrested including the surrender of a former rebel. Moreover, in the 12 Operations on Firearms Safekeeping conducted, 15 assorted high powered Firearms were safely kept. Poklay said that the Simultaneous Anti Criminality Law enforcement operation (SACLEO) aims to deepen police efforts to restrain criminal activities through intelligence-driven police operations so that the residents, visitors and tourists of Tarlac Province will enjoy a safe and secure summer vacation comes SUMVAC 2020.
