Facebook unveils Pinterest-like app

By Gabriela Baron Facebook recently unveiled Hobbi, a photo-sharing app similar to Pinterest. Dubbed the "one-stop app for your personal projects," Hobbi lets users save photos of "projects you're working on and the activities you love to do" and organize them into visual collections and share highlights. (App Store) (App Store) "Hobbi is a photo-sharing app where you can capture and organize your creative process like cooking, baking, arts and crafts, fitness, or home decor," says a post on its page in the App Store. The app doesn't have a social sharing component, but can be used to create videos of projects after they're finished. According to a report by The Verge, the social networking giant introduced its New Product Experimentation (NPE) team in 2019 to develop experimental apps outside the company's core brands. Its products include meme-making app Whale, social networking app Bump, and music DJ app Aux. Hobbi was released first in Colombia, Belgium, Spain, and Ukraine. It's compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices running iOS 11 or later.
