This year’s bar examinations will again be set this November, the Supreme Court (SC) announced.
In a bar bulletin dated February 14, SC Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, chair of the 2020 bar examinations, said the examinations will be held on four consecutive Sundays this November.

“The exam periods will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for the first exam and from 1 :00 p.m. to 5 :00 p.m. for the second exam,” said Leonen.
“The venue of the 2020 Bar Examinations will be announced in a separate bar bulletin,” he added.
The coverage and date of the bar exams are the following:
November 8 - Political and International Law and Labor Law and Social Legislation
November 15 - Civil Law and Taxation Law 3
November 22 - Commercial Law and Criminal Law
November 29 - Remedial Law and Legal Ethics and Practical Exercises
“In order to promote operational efficiency due to the increase in the number of admitted bar candidates in recent years, each bar subject shall have two (2) bar examiners,” Leonen said in a separate bar bulletin also dated Feb. 14.
“In implementing the two-examiner policy, every bar sµbject shall be divided into two (2) parts-Part I and Part II. Examiners shall be assigned a specific scope from which to formulate their questions. During the examinations, bar examinees shall be given one (1) questionnaire per subject with two (2) parts. Bar examinees shall also be given two (2) conjoined booklets, which shall be marked Part I and Part II. Answers corresponding to each part of the questionnaire shall be written in the appropriate examination booklet,” the magistrate explained.
