PDEA seizes P1.2M worth of marijuana bricks from student

By Chito Chavez An estimated P1.2 million worth of marijuana bricks were seized from a student at a bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City on Thursday. (PDEA / MANILA BULLETIN) (PDEA / MANILA BULLETIN) The suspect, identified as Karlo Jose Pio R. Ricafrente, 24, was arrested in an interdiction operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office-National Capital Region, PDEA Region-3, PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) at ES Transport Terminal in Barangay E. Rodriguez at around 5:40 a.m. More or less 10 kilograms of marijuana bricks were confiscated from Ricafrente. The suspect refused to answer questions from authorities and has remained mum on the source of the contraband as well as where he was going to deliver them. PDEA RO-NCR Director Joel B Plaza said cases of violation of sections 4 and 11, Article II, Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared against the arrested suspect.
