PAGASA does not expect the formation of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone that may affect the country throughout the week.
(PAGASA/ MANILA BULLETIN)
Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said cloudy skies with chances of rainfall may persist due to the prevailing northeast monsoon or "amihan."
The surge of "amihan" pushed air temperatures down to 19.5 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila and 10.8 degrees Celsius in Baguio City on Tuesday morning.
The latest temperature readings however are slightly higher than the lowest recorded this year at 18.5 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila last Feb. 1 and 4, and 10.2 degrees Celsius in Baguio City last Feb. 1.
Bulquerin said the "amihan" is still expected to bring cold and slightly rainy weather conditions across the country in the next few days.
Cloudy skies with light rains may affect Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and the entire Visayas .
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likely experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light monsoon rains.
PAGASA noted that a gale warning remains in effect on Tuesday due to rough seas triggered by the surge of the northeast monsoon.
Fishing boats and small sea craft were advised not to set sail into the northern coasts of Luzon, eastern seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, and eastern coastlines of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Moderate to rough seas may also prevail over the rest of the country.
