LeBron James shows support as longtime pal Romeo Travis plans to start own podcast

Romeo Travis is planning to start a podcast of his own and NBA superstar LeBron James, a longtime pal of the former PBA import, couldn't hide his excitement over the project.

Travis hinted at the possibility of starting his own show on Twitter Wednesday before James undoubtedly agreed with his friend's decision.

"You should!!" Would be dope," said the Los Angeles Lakers star, quoting Travis' tweet minutes later.

James and Travis brotherhood goes way back, starting with their "Fab 5" era at the St. Vincent-St-Mary basketball team in Akron.

Joining them in the 2003 Ohio state championship were Dru Joyce III, Sian Cotton and Willie McGee.

After their high school stardom, James went straight to the NBA while Travis attended the University of Akron before taking his talents overseas.

In the Philippines, Travis made a name as the Best Import of the Conference with the Alaska Aces in 2015 but suffered a Finals series sweep over the June Mar Fajardo-led San Miguel Beermen.

Years later, he signed with the Magnolia Hotshots in the 2018 and 2019 PBA Governors' Cup.

During the 2018 contest, Travis dropped a career-high 50 points on 20-of-26 shooting from the field and 13 rebounds to lift the Hotshots past the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings in Game 4 of the semifinals.

James, who showed his all-out support to Travis that game, coincidentally posted an impressive stat line of 44 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers to surpass Wilt Chamberlain at No. 5 in NBA's all-time scoring list.

The former PBA Best Import, ironically, avenged his 2015 loss over his former team Alaska as Magnolia won the Finals series with a 4-2 finish.

The following year, Magnolia only reached the quarterfinals and yielded to the TNT KaTropa in the same conference.

Who knows? Travis, who will celebrate his 36th birthday tomorrow, has prepared a studded-lineup in store for the podcast including LeBron, the "Fab Five" members and former teammates in Magnolia.
