Back-up playmaker Almond Vosotros ready for the big task in Game 5

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY--With injured Jayson Castro questionable to play, back-up guard Almond Vosotros is more than ready to step up if his number gets called as TNT fights for dear life in Game Five of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Wednesday. 

Coach Bong Ravena said that veteran playmaker Castro is on a day-to-day status after hurting his left knee with bone spurs in the Tropang Giga's 98-88 loss to the Barangay Ginebra Kings in Game Four last Sunday. 

The the 34-year-old Gilas Pilipinas star was also dealing with a calf injury which he sustained early in the eliminations.

With Castro doutbful to see action together with statistical points leader Ray Parks Jr. (calf strain) as TNT faces a 1-3 series deficit, the 30-year-old Vosotros is having a "next man up" mentality. 

"Actually 'di pa rin namin sure kung makakalaro si kuya Jayson. Hopefully, makalaro. Pero kung 'di talaga kaya, ready lang ako sa bench," said the former Gilas Pilipinas standout. 

Vosotros actually played quality minutes for TNT when he was deployed after Castro went down early in the third quarter of the previous game. 

The ex-UAAP champion from La Salle finished with two points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal in six minutes of play that saw him impressively taking the playmaking duties with only a few errors. 

Vosotros is looking to chip in again should Ravena put him on the court. 

"'Yun lang talaga ang mindset ko na makatulong ako sa mga teammates ko at saka siguro nasa isip ko na rin na hindi ko dapat masayang 'yung trust at opportunity na ibibigay sakin if ever mabigyan ako ng time tomorrow."
